Jayashree Bhattacharya

Founder of Magnaviz Education, passed away in May 2026.

Many of you will already have heard. For those who haven't, we're sorry to be telling you this way.

Jayashree ma'am started Magnaviz because she felt school, for all it gives children, leaves very little room for a lot of what matters. So she made that room herself, in the evenings after school, on weekends, over the holidays. Classes and workshops where kids could learn things nobody was going to test them on, and where a question was allowed to take as long as it took.

Magnaviz was her, really. Without her it doesn't make sense to keep it running, and the organisation has been dissolved.

But anyone who taught there or studied there knows that isn't quite the end of it. The teachers still teach the way she encouraged us to. The students, some of them grown up now, still think the way they learned to think in those rooms. That part doesn't get dissolved.

Thank you to every family who trusted us with their children, and to the children, who were the whole point.
